1st Grade Teacher

Hi! I am very excited to be teaching first grade at The Cherry Hill School this year!

I was born in El Paso and raised in both El Paso and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. I had the best of both worlds where I was immersed in both cultures and made lasting friendships on both sides of the border. I have a bachelor’s in Elementary Education and a master’s in Adult Education and Training. I have been teaching for ten years in the Gadsden School District in New Mexico where I taught kindergarten, first, second, and fifth grade. During these years I enjoyed implementing various strategies, differentiation for all the learning styles, and teaching my students to collaborate by working on projects where they used critical thinking skills across all subject areas simultaneously. Most importantly, I provided a nurturing, loving, learning environment where my students felt secure to learn and explore. I love teaching and the best gratification is seeing my students grow in all areas of their life.

When I’m not at school I enjoy going to the movies, exploring new local restaurants, and traveling.
